Our Beliefs
- We believe in the trinity. While God is only one divine nature, there are three persons called Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are equal in nature, distinct in person and subordinate in duties. God has three attributes functioning in perfect unity with each other. We do not worship three gods we worship one God in three persons. The Bible shows us evidence of this throughout its pages. God the Father reigns from heaven while Jesus the Son mediates between God and man, all the time the Holy Spirit works in the hearts and lives drawing mankind towards God’s gift of Salvation. Three in One!
- We believe Jesus was God, became man in the flesh, and dwelt upon the earth living among mankind. Jesus was perfect and without sin or flaw. Jesus came to this earth perfectly obedient to His Father to die for and thereby pay for the sins of all mankind past, present, and future. His sacrifice (being perfect, holy, and faultless) paid the debt justice required of sin. Only through Jesus’ blood can a man enter into Heaven and dwell in the midst of God almighty. We believe Jesus died, was buried, and rose again on the third day thus conquering death and sin. He ascended up to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God and will come back physically to this earth to call his saints home.
- We believe the Bible is the Holy Word of God. Perfect and pure in its original writings. We believe these writings are preserved to the modern reader and that the modern man can know the Holy Words of God. We believe the King James is the most accurately translated version of these original writings. We believe the King James best represents the language in its style, meaning, and composer for the English reader. We believe that all authority on earth for the believer rests with the Holy Bible and its writings. Not tradition, not mankind, not denomination, simply the Bible and the Bible alone.
- We believe that all men have sinned and cannot enter into the presence of our Holy God. We believe that the Bible clearly teaches that the way to Heaven comes through faith and faith alone. Good works will get you no farther than the grave. Man can do nothing to earn his salvation or God’s favor. Only through accepting the gift of Jesus’ blood which was shed upon a cross and turning from hatred and pride toward God can a man truly believe and accept the gift of Salvation. We believe that we cannot earn the gift of salvation and as such can never do anything righteous enough to keep the gift. Salvation is eternal and permanent. As such, God expects His followers to act in the best way possible to live the lives of saints. Called out for a purpose.
- We believe the Bible teaches that after accepting the gift of Salvation the next obedient step is to follow Christ in baptism. We believe the Bible clearly teaches full immersion as the form of baptism. The Bible does not teach that baptism washes away sins or that it instills the believer with a “special gift” of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible clearly teaches it as a symbolic outward expression of an internal change. We believe baptism allows the saved man to enter into the congregation of believers.
- We believe that an ordinance of the church given by Christ at the last supper was communion. We believe that communion as set forth in the Bible is for the saved believer. We do not encourage anyone to take communion who does not fully put their trust in Jesus and Jesus alone for salvation. We do not believe that communion earns or bestows salvation or eternal life upon anyone. It is a symbolic act set forth by the Bible for communion of the saints. It is a time of reflection and closeness to God and fellow believers in Christ.
- We believe that the Church is the community of believers and not the denomination, organization, or building. We believe that anyone who has accepted the gift of salvation through the blood of Jesus and has followed Him in obedience through baptism is welcome. We believe that the believer is responsible to the church and the church to the believer. We believe the church to be family through Christ and as such should walk and act in accordance with Christ’s love for His family.
- We believe the church local should be autonomous and independent. We do not believe the Church Local should be subject to higher man made organizations or councils. We believe in the independence of the local church but believe this church to be subject to the Holy Word of God through the Bible and to the founder of the church, Jesus Christ, and His teachings.
- We believe that the Bible clearly teaches that all men have an immortal soul. We believe that the choice of faith in Jesus or rejecting Jesus’ gift of salvation determines the course of events after a man dies. We believe the Bible clearly teaches this. The soul who rejects the love of God through the Gift of Jesus’ sacrifice will be punished in a literal lake of fire known as Hell. Although we do not like to think about God as punishing people, the Bible clearly teaches that without genuine faith in Christ that a man will spend eternity in Hell.
